Faber Piano Adventures Curriculum

I use the  Faber Piano Adventures curriculum published by Hal Leonard.  You must obtain the required books listed below before your 1st Lesson.   To browse all Piano Adventures publications by LEVEL (or if you have difficulty viewing any of the Level Wheel PDF files listed below), click here.

Complete Piano Adventures Catalog

Page  82 of the Piano Adventures Complete Catalog and Teacher's Desk Reference begins a spreadsheet with all the current Piano Adventures publications, item numbers, and retail costs.  There are a mind-boggling number of products.  Below I list the required books.   Once you're familiar with what's available, we can discuss additional resources you may want to acquire.

If you're not sure which level to purchase because your child either has previous experience or is very bright and on the cusp  of the next age group, call me.  We can discuss which books to buy.

Where to Buy Piano Adventures Books in Hawai‘i

A list of local businesses that carry the Piano Adventures books will be forthcoming.

You can purchase the books online (though it takes more time) at:

  • Amazon.com
  • Piano Adventures (call or add items to cart)

Both Amazon and Piano Adventures offer different bundled packages.  Decide what you want to purchase and check what's available at each vendor.  Don't forget to factor in shipping costs.

Assignment Notebook - all students

Every student, no matter what age, needs a dedicated notebook for me to write individualized assignments and practice notes.  A sewn-bound composition notebook is best because the pages won't fall out.  Please:  No spiral-bound books.  Click here for details.

Do You Buy a Book With or Without the CD?

You can always use a simple metronome. None of these audio supports are required, but...

... it's so much fun to "play with the band" rather than a metronome alone.   The audio supports are one of the many features that makes Piano Adventures such an excellent resource for piano pedagogy.

If the student has access to an iPhone or iPad...

... do not purchase the CD.  Download the free Piano Adventures app and purchase the music for your books (approx. $5 per level).

If the student doesn't have an iOS device *and* has a CD Player...

... purchase the book with the CD, or the CD separately.  Consult the Complete Catalog for pricing details.

Differences between CD and App

Click here to read Piano Adventures' description of their audio supports.
