Sometimes, getting information from the State of Hawaiʻi Department of Education (HIDOE) is like hunting for the Holy Grail. You're not even sure if it exists and the Knights Templar of Administrators keep it hidden or difficult to find in a maze of link after link that sometimes leads to a dead end. Myths are plentiful as well as confusion. Many crusaders are asking the same questions. Some find answers. So, this section of my web site is to share some of the gems my friends and I have picked up during our various quests for information and the truth.
A lot of this information was obtained through UIPA Requests for Government Records. The UIPA (Uniform Information Practices Act) is Hawaii's version of FOIA, the federal Freedom of Information Act. If you have uncovered other important documents that were hard to find on the DOE website (which really needs a better search engine and organization) or not available to the public online that you think should be included, please contact me: MsVOtt@gmail.com
